The holiday season is here, and we’re excited to kick it off with something truly special at Fenestra! This year, we’re joining Morguard’s North Pole Express, a four-week donation drive with a heartfelt mission to bring joy to foster children. We’ve teamed up with Comfort Cases, an amazing nonprofit that supports kids in the foster care system. We’d love for our Fenestra community to join us in making this holiday season brighter for those in need!
What Is the North Pole Express? 🎅
Imagine a sleigh filled with more than just toys—this drive focuses on collecting essential items to bring comfort and joy to children in foster care. The North Pole Express is Morguard’s annual holiday initiative where communities like Fenestra at Rockville Town Square come together to collect donations. For the next four weeks, our lobby will be transformed into a festive drop-off zone for your generous contributions.
Who Are We Supporting? 💙
We’re honored to partner with Comfort Cases, a nonprofit founded by Rob Scheer, who himself grew up in the foster care system. Comfort Cases was created to address the heartbreaking reality that many children enter foster care with their belongings in trash bags. Instead, Comfort Cases provides these children with backpacks filled with essentials like pajamas, books, cozy blankets, and hygiene products.
These comfort cases are so much more than just backpacks—they are a way to show children they are seen, valued, and cared for. Each item offers a sense of dignity, comfort, and hope, making a positive impact on a child’s life.
How Can You Get Involved? 🎁
We’d love for our wonderful Fenestra residents to help us make this holiday season special for children in need! From now through December 13th, we’re collecting the following items in our lobby:
- New pajamas (all sizes)
- Diaper wipes (packs of 10-48)
- Children’s books (because every child deserves a bedtime story)
- Small blankets & stuffed animals (for warmth and comfort)
- Baby washcloths (to help keep little ones clean)
Please remember, all donations must be new and unused, and they should not be religious or holiday-themed to ensure inclusivity for all children.
